I was visiting from San Antonio and stopped into this shop for the first time while spending the evening in town. Before arriving, I had read the reviews and expected a pleasant experience, and that’s exactly what I found. The store has a really fun atmosphere. There are nostalgic candies I haven’t seen in years, unique gifts, toys, souvenirs, and they even serve Hershey’s ice cream. I had never tried Hershey’s ice cream before because I’ve always been a Blue Bell fan, but I decided to try the Bourbon Truffle flavor, and it may honestly be my new favorite ice cream. While I was browsing the souvenir section near the Squishy Bar, I happened to witness the interaction that I believe some recent reviews are referring to. From what I personally observed, the owner remained polite and simply asked the family not to go through the merchandise the way they were because it could damage the items and displays. The request was calm and respectful. Instead of simply stopping, the family became confrontational, aggressive and began speaking disrespectfully to the owner before leaving. As they walked out, I also remember hearing a comment along the lines of, “Don’t own a toy store if you’re not going to let kids play with the toys.” I thought that was an odd response, especially since I never saw the owner tell the children they couldn’t play with toys. From what I witnessed, she was only asking them to be careful with the merchandise and displays. Everyone experiences situations differently, but based on what I personally witnessed, I felt the owner handled the situation professionally and respectfully. The rest of my visit was very welcoming, and I enjoyed browsing all the unique items throughout the store. I would absolutely stop here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for unique gifts, nostalgic candy, great ice cream, and a fun place to explore.❤️😁
